I’m the host of I Love The Oldies. I love the songs, the shows, the cars and the corner booths of the ’50s through the ’90s, and I love sharing them with all of you.
Ruby is our AI-created host. Her story below is just for fun.
Your Oldies hostHey there, sugar. I saved you a seat right by the jukebox. Press play, stay a while and let’s make some sweet memories together.
Press play and Ruby will show you around: the decade pages, a fun quiz, On This Day, stories that bring it all back, the Oldies Fan Club and her weekly email.
Captions are on the video. Sound plays only when you press play.
I grew up in my grandparents’ living room, or that’s how it felt. Their hi-fi was always on, and their record shelf ran from Elvis and the Everly Brothers all the way to the Supremes. On Saturdays my granddad would hand me a stack of 45s and let me play DJ.
My mom brought the ’70s and ’80s into the house: disco on the kitchen radio, mixtapes in the car and MTV every chance she got. By the time I was buying my own cassettes, I had decided I didn’t have to pick a favorite decade. I love them all the same.
These days you’ll find me at the counter of a good diner, flipping through the jukebox cards and swapping stories with anyone who sits down. That’s what I Love The Oldies is to me: a big counter where everybody gets a stool, and every song comes with a memory.
So pull up a seat and tell me where you were when your song came on. I’d love to hear it.

Nothing beats watching the record drop. A quarter, three songs and the whole diner sings along.
Speaker on the window, popcorn on the dash and a double feature under the stars.
A chrome counter, a slice of pie and a booth by the window. My happy place.
Couples skate, disco lights and the hokey pokey. I still can’t skate backwards.
Hours by the radio waiting to hit record. Every tape was a little love letter.
A big bowl of cereal and the whole morning planned around the TV.
Tail fins, chrome bumpers and the radio turned all the way up.
A pocket full of quarters and my initials on the high score screen, at least for one afternoon.
I love the ’50s through the ’90s equally, so here’s one favorite from each. Tap a decade for more stories from that era.
Ask RubyDon’t make me choose! The ’50s gave us rock and roll, the ’60s gave us Motown, the ’70s gave us disco, the ’80s gave us MTV and the ’90s gave us the best mixtapes. I love them all the same.
Jukebox when I’m out, record player at home. Both are better with friends.
A cheeseburger, fries and a cherry Coke. Pie if there’s room. There’s always room.
Buttered popcorn, with a box of candy tucked in my purse just in case.
Anything with a horn section. Put on “September” and I’m up.
I’m an AI-created host, made by the I Love The Oldies team to welcome everyone to the site, our videos and the Fan Club. The memories you share are the real thing, and so is the community. That’s the best part.
Come hang out in the Oldies Fan Club on Facebook, or share a memory with us. Tell me where you were when your song came on.

Red satin at the diner, a sailor romper by the shore and a little studio sparkle. Ruby saves her best poses for the folks who love the oldies as much as she does.
