Questions

Good to know.

Still wondering about something? Contact us.

Small banner, Big banner or Bundle: which should I pick?
The Small banner is a 300 x 300 px box in the sidebars, inside stories and in the story feed. The Big banner is the wide 970 x 120 px banner on the homepage and the five decade pages. The Bundle gives you both banners for a month plus one Sponsored story, for one price. The price steps up with size and with the number of placements.
What do I need to send?
For a Small banner, Big banner or Bundle: your business name, a link to your website, a headline (up to 40 characters), one short line (up to 90 characters) and your logo in any shape (square, round, wide or tall), PNG or JPG, at least 400 x 400 px for a square logo or 800 px wide for a wide one. Optional: a landscape photo of your storefront, food or product, at least 1200 x 800 px, JPG or PNG, and a background colour for behind your logo (a hex code like #FFF8E8; white if you skip it). For a Sponsored story (on its own or in the Bundle): a few notes about your business, your website link and 2 to 4 photos you own.
Who designs the ad?
We do. Every ad is built in our template, with your brand front and center: your photo or your logo fills the top of the ad, then your headline and a button. You do not need a designer or any design files. For Sponsored stories, we write the story and send it to you to check before it goes live.
How long until my ad is live?
We review every application within a few days and reply by email. Once you have paid, we set up your ad and email you as soon as it is live.
How do I pay, and what about refunds?
Only after your ad is approved. We email you a secure PayPal link for your package. You can pay with a PayPal account or, where PayPal offers it, a debit or credit card. Your card details go to PayPal. No card is ever entered on this site. Refunds: you only pay after your ad is approved, and if your ad does not run as described, contact us and we will put it right.
Should I send a photo? And does my logo need to be square?
A photo is optional. With one, it fills the top of your ad and your logo sits on it. Without one, your logo is shown big on your background colour. A bright, simple photo of your storefront, food or product works best. Use a photo you own, with no text on it. Any logo shape works: square and round logos get a large badge, wide logos get a full-width plate, and tall logos a tall one, so your logo always shows big. See the long wordmark of Brightwaters Hardware & Supply (a made-up business) in each package above. We never stretch or crop it.
Can I change my ad?
Yes. Send the new headline, line, logo, photo, colour or link through our contact page and we update your ad after a quick review.
What is not allowed?
No politics, no religion, no adult content and nothing misleading or illegal. Family-friendly businesses, products and events are welcome. We may decline any ad that does not fit the site.
How long does it run, and does it renew?
The Small banner, Big banner and Bundle run for one month from the day they go live, then end on their own. Nothing renews automatically, so you are never charged again unless you choose to. A Sponsored story on its own is a one-time fee.
How will I know it is working?
We do not promise a set number of views or clicks. Your ad links straight to your website, so the easiest way to see results is your own website stats, or a special offer that only appears in your ad.
